11:27 am: Debt
So,

there is some news to post about!

I bought a house... on a little bit of land, in the middle of the Sydney basin, at an exorbitant price!

The place

Paid the 10% deposit yesterday and have it all finalised! now just have to wait 5 weeks until we can move in! (and start paying that really high rent people keep talking about)

08:21 am: Petrol
Funny how the price of petrol has dropped amazingly
It would be even more amazing had the aussie dollar actually not fallen out the bottom as well.

I filled up for $1.019 on Tuesday morning, and I noticed yesterday that some stations had it lower.

Now, remember when the price first jumped over $1 and all the stations were scrambling to get signs that could accomodate the extra digit?
I saw one yesterday with the scroll of numbers type sign that had the lowest figure as 10 for the first column! same issue but in reverse. That ammused me

01:45 pm: Fun visual stuff
So,

I was playing around with some stuff at work these past few days.

Basically, we have a large number of sites spread all over Australia that we have to service:



These sites do not need full time staff and we have a large number of contractors to service these sites:



What I have done is written a little website for internal use that links the sites with the contractors and gives them names and address and phone numbers etc.

Still, that is a lot of places to work at! :)

Did I mention that I am going on a holiday in November?

I am going to Cairns to go Diving! :)

08:30 am: FFS!
I love being informed of an early morning meeting 5pm the day before.
A meeting to happen between us and the US
A meeting that is very important to the growth of the company and the winning of a contract
A meeting that must happen at 7:30 due to time differences
A meeting that is cancelled as I walk in the door to the office at 7am!

03:15 pm: Done and Dusted

So that whole saga is over, the cheque has been deposited.

Time to wipe my hands of that

06:08 pm: Sweet!
I went skiing on the weekend and it was sweet!

The overnight temperatures dropped to around -12 each night and did not go above -2 during the days.
This allowed snowmaking to continue throughout as we skied along, providing a nice deep hard packed base with fresh powder on top to allow for some awesome conditions.

Surprisingly there were very few people as well.  Being the last weekend on the NSW school holidays we expected that Saturday and Sunday would be chockers and that we would have to wait until Monday to have a quiet one.  Some of the lifts on Sat/Sun were busy but by changing to others we were able to get fairly free runs most of the time.

09:34 am: Ouch
Well, to top the good Monday off I rolled my ankle playing ultimate and am now having difficulty walking.

There goes the E-word for the rest of the week at least!

03:18 pm: A Victory
Well

I won my court case against a previous employer, and I also won the cross claim against me in regards to the same.

This means that I get a couple of dollars in the mail within the next 28 days!

/me bounces

And, now, finally, I can relax for a month or so.
I have nothing pestering me to train, or complete, or prepare, or anything!
I need a holiday!

might be time to go skiing!
